As part of our continuing commitment to the research and development of new evidence-based treatment for the rehabilitation of people suffering from drug and alcohol addiction, Smarmore Castle Private Clinic is organising two full-day workshops on the 6th and 7th of December 2016.
The workshops will be facilitated by Dan Griffin, author and advocate for changing the way we think about men. Dan’s professional background includes over two decades in the mental health and addictions field. He is an expert on male trauma. He is also a Senior Fellow for The Meadows treatment centre in the USA.

Relationship Tools for Men and Women in RecoveryThe second workshop, on the 7th of December will investigate how each gender responds to emotional sobriety, how being men and women affects recovery and what the challenges are of developing relationships and a balanced recovery in the 21st century.
The event is facilitated by Dan Griffin, world leader in the area of men’s issues. He co-authored Helping Men Recover, the first comprehensive gender-responsive and trauma-informed curriculum for addiction and mental health professionals.

Smarmore Castle is a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic in Ireland. Our treatment programme is focussed primarily on alcohol and drug addiction, prescription medications abuse and gambling addiction. Our medical treatment is under the direction of a leading Consultant Psychiatrist, and the overall service is under the direction of an experienced Clinical Psychologist. Our medical and clinical staff have experience in treating many of the co-occuring disorders and issues that need to be addressed as part of an alcoholic’s or chemical dependent’s treatment plan, such as depression, stress, bereavement, anxiety and burn-out.
