We are excited to host the first ever Smarmore Castle reunion, on Sunday 11th September, in Recovery Month. This is a free event is for Smarmore Castle Alumni (former patients) as well as long-standing friends and staff of the clinic. We are sure that many of you will welcome the chance to come back to the place where your recovery started and see old friends and meet new ones.

Where: At Smarmore Castle, Ardee

The day will involve speeches from our Clinic Manager, Keith Cassidy, alumni and guest speakers. Lunch and tea and coffee will be provided.

10am – Tea, coffee and biscuits

11:30 – Please take your seats in the marquee

Welcome and introduction: Dominic McCann, CEO

12:45 – Lunch: BBQ

Desserts will be served in the Board Room

We are delighted to confirm our guest speaker, Dr Steve, will be coming to us all the way from the United States.

Speaker bio:

Dr. Steve played CBGB and Max’s Kansas City in the late 70s; drank, played in a toy rock band and then got sober in the 80s; became an international social justice/diversity educator and rocker again in the 90s; and is now a sought after consultant, trainer, clinician, writer and meditation teacher.

Dr. Steve is the author of several books including Clinical Dharma: A Path for Healers and Helpers (2016), EMDR Therapy and Mindfulness for Trauma-Focused Care (coauthored with Jamie Marich, 2017), Mindfulness for Anger Management (2018) and coauthored Trauma and the 12 Steps: A Trauma Responsive Workbook, as well as Trauma and the 12 Steps: Daily Meditations & Reflections – both companion pieces to the updated Trauma and the 12 Steps by Dr. Jamie Marich.

Getting here

Guests are invited to arrange their own transport and parking will be provided onsite.
